Job Description
This is a rare opportunity to join our team at our San Jose Terminal. Williams Tank Lines Inc is seeking a F/T Experienced Level Diesel Technician to join our San Jose team. We are one of the largest for hire bulk petroleum carriers in California and Nevada. The company operates over 150 Trucks and Trailers out of 9 different locations in California and 2 locations in Nevada.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is primarily responsible for maintenance and repairs on heavy duty Class 7 & 8 tanker trucks and Trailers.SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Must have own tools.Must have experience in:
Diagnosing Cummins and or Paccar engines, In-depth knowledge and experience R/R engine components pertaining to DPF System, Transmission, air conditioning system, drive train, Electrical, suspension/steering and engine tune up experience. Knowledge in tanker repair and Vapor testing a Plus but not required. Knowledge with tank remounts to new chassis and or fabrication highly desired but not necessary. PM Service and DOT regulation knowledge pertaining to OOS (out of service) Criteria. Must be able to perform all aspects of tire and wheel maintenance (mount and dismount tires, remove and install complete tire and wheel). Proper and safe use of basic hand and power tools. Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, and function well as a team member. Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English so as to ensure effective communication across all lines of employees, vendors, and customers. Good computer skills a must as we are a paperless Maintenance & Repair shop that uses system generated Repair orders. Currently we TMW Asset Maintenance System experience in or with similar type system is not required but would be an asset. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license during the course of employment- Class A & TX endorsements is an asset but not required.
JOB CONDITIONS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Monday through Friday shop schedule 8AM- 4:30 PM Road calls and afterhours and OT may be required.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE
Experienced Level Mechanic skills are typically acquired through the field working no less than 5years solid experience. We will consider 3-years solid previous experience with Certification from an accredited Diesel School. High School diploma required. Pay will be discussed with applicant and is based on experience and qualifications. Williams Tank Lines Inc.
