Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brakes, and other critical components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, cutting, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by interpreting schematics and troubleshooting guides to identify root causes. Replace or repair faulty parts such as brakes, suspensions, tires, powertrain components, HVAC systems, and electrical wiring. Conduct alignment checks and perform precision adjustments to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs accurately for compliance and future reference. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership or industrial equipment service background. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and construction machinery maintenance. Skilled in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, suspension systems, and power tools usage. Familiarity with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications for various brands such as Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery. Experience with welding, fabrication techniques including soldering and heavy lifting procedures. Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot complex electrical or mechanical issues effectively. Prior service technician experience in construction or farm machinery servicing is highly desirable.
