Job Description
Overview Darby Pit is seeking a dependable, experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and trucks used in our aggregate and gravel pit operations. If you enjoy solving mechanical problems, working independently, and taking pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently, we'd like to hear from you. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and mechanical systems Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, heavy equipment, and shop equipment Complete repairs involving hydraulic, electrical, fuel, brake, cooling, and drivetrain systems Perform welding and fabrication as needed to repair equipment Inspect equipment for safety and operational issues Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate repair needs Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe Occasionally operate heavy equipment to move materials or position equipment for repairs
