• 40 per hour, depending on experience Position Overview DT Services is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician to join our Idaho Falls shop team.

This position is intended for a dependable technician who can accurately diagnose problems, complete quality repairs, and work efficiently on assigned tasks. Our technicians are supported by Service and Parts Coordinators who help manage repair orders, customer communication, workflow, and parts sourcing. A Technical Coordinator is also available to provide technical direction, assist with complex diagnostics, and help maintain repair quality and efficiency. The successful candidate must be able to work productively with limited supervision while also communicating and coordinating effectively with technicians, coordinators, and management. Applicants must have at least two years of relevant diesel repair experience to be considered. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems on heavy-duty trucks and equipment Complete assigned repair orders efficiently and according to established priorities Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and general repairs Repair and replace engines, drivetrain components, brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems, and other vehicle systems Use diagnostic software, scan tools, service information, and electrical testing equipment Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, parts used, labor performed, and additional work needed Communicate parts needs, repair recommendations, and job progress to the appropriate Service and Parts Coordinator Work with the Technical Coordinator when additional technical direction or diagnostic support is needed Promptly communicate delays, additional findings, or changes that could affect repair completion Coordinate effectively with other technicians and staff members to maintain productive shop workflow Follow established safety procedures and maintain an organized work area Inspect completed work to ensure repairs meet company quality standards Take ownership of assigned work while contributing to the overall performance of the team Assist with other shop responsibilities as customer and operational needs require Required Qualifications Minimum of two years of professional heavy-duty diesel repair experience Commercial Driver's License Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic system failures Ability to work efficiently and remain focused on assigned repair tasks Ability to follow established workflows, repair priorities, and technical direction Strong communication and teamwork skills Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record Personal hand tools appropriate for the position Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening Ability to safely lift, carry, bend, climb, and work around heavy trucks and equipment Dependable attendance and a professional approach to assigned responsibilities Preferred Qualifications ASE or other industry-recognized certifications Advanced electrical and emissions-system diagnostic experience Experience with multiple makes of heavy-duty trucks and equipment Schedule Monday through Friday Day shift Some workdays may extend beyond eight hours depending on workload Occasional weekend work may be available or required based on customer needs and management approval Compensation $20
