Job Description
Job Summary Highway 30 Garage is seeking to hire an experienced Diesel/Auto Tech. This is a full time position, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. Must have your own tools and knowledge of diesel and gas engines. Must have the ability to diagnose vehicles with scanner! Heavy mechanic experience a plus. Pay is very competitive with paid vacation after 1 year, major holidays off and other perks. We are an established company with more than 50 years in the same Twin Falls location. Immediate Hire Available! Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and HVAC systems. Conduct vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire service, alignment, shocks & struts, and air brake systems. Repair and fabricate parts using welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to meet specifications. Operate and troubleshoot heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately and efficiently. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components during repairs or upgrades. Perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment to minimize downtime. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations. Qualifications Proven experience as an automotive or heavy equipment mechanic; dealership experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery repair. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, or farm machinery is preferred. Mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills with a focus on quality workmanship. Relevant certifications or licenses related to vehicle repair or heavy equipment operation are advantageous.
