Job Description
Perma-Seal Basement Systems, a trusted family-owned company serving Chicagoland homeowners for over 45 years, is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. If you have experience maintaining and repairing diesel trucks, fleet vehicles, trailers, construction equipment, and hydraulic systems, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair diesel engines, fleet vehicles, trailers, and construction equipment. Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake service, tire rotations, fluid changes, and inspections. Troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, steering, suspension, and brake systems. Utilize diagnostic software and specialized tools to identify and repair mechanical issues. Complete DOT inspections and ensure equipment remains safe and compliant. Maintain accurate repair records and preventive maintenance schedules. Coordinate repairs to minimize equipment downtime and keep our fleet operating efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or Truck Mechanic (5+ years preferred). Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, brakes, suspension, and preventative maintenance. Experience repairing trucks, trailers, and construction equipment. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Proficiency using diagnostic software and repair equipment. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Automotive or Diesel Technician certification preferred. Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a non-CDL Class C license. Why Join Perma-Seal?
