Overview Pioneer Transport is seeking a skilled and energetic mechanic to join our team. Being a diesel mechanic would be a plus, but not essential as 75% of work would be trailer maintenance and 25% would be service calls and work on our diesel trucks. Most work will be on equipment owned by Pioneer, but some is performed for outside carriers. Useful skills would include welding, performing DOT inspections, replacing brakes, hubs, tires, air line maintenance, trailer floor, roof and sidewall repair. Preference will be given to individuals able to creatively solve problems and who can and will do whatever is necessary to make a repair happen. In other words, it's about results! Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections, repairs on semi trailers. Conduct routing maintenance suc as oil changes, tire service, brake replacements, air line maintenance. Operate semi's on our yard, move machinery safely around the shop. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure all repairs meet safety standards. Stay in communication with teammates to ensure safety and timely repairs of work orders. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to support repairs or custom modifications.

Qualifications:

Show up to work when scheduled! Good communication skills with customers and teammates. Give an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and equipment maintenance techniques. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting as required and work in various environmental conditions safely. Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing manual repairs in various environmental conditions.
