Job Description
A. The Fleet Mechanic / Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Company fleet equipment to include, class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, Concrete mixer trucks, Tractors, Trailers , Equipment such as Wheel loader, Track hoes, Dozers ,Forklifts, Man lifts Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic malfunctions, perform all types of repairs, rebuild/replace major equipment components Keep the shop area and all tools, shop vehicles, and equipment neat, clean, and in good repair. Clean work area at the end of every job. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with, safety policies Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job Ability to read, write and speak English Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology Valid driver's license required and obligation to maintain compliance with company employee policy High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Advance knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipment Ability to operate hand tools and others such as bench grinders, acetylene torch, drill press, jacks and jack stands, Sawzall, etc. as required to perform work Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure efficient use of time Ability to work in a positive and productive team environment Frequent vehicle operation, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, overhead reaching, use of PPE special clothing, grasping, pushing, pulling, and frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50lbs. Repeated exposure to chemicals, weather, and noise Ability to show initiative, problem solving, technical skills, and demonstrate teamwork Complete work orders, ensure all information is recorded in maintenance data system Perform emergency roadside services as needed Must add value to the company Ability to use and operate Manufacturer Diagnostic software, Cummins, Detroit, MACK , Kw, as well as some equipment diagnostic programs, Vehicle scan tool Fast paced environment promotes a healthy lifestyle
