Individual needs a basic understanding of mechanical equipment including plant and trucks. Work in quarries, conveyor systems, around pneumatic valves, performing preventative maintenance, changing tires, lights, and electrical systems a bonus. Selected individual will work with an veteran mechanic and follow instructions as well as perform jobs as required and experience dictates.

Qualifications:

1 to 2 years of automotive, heavy equipment, aggregate plant, quarry or truck experience preferred. Vocational or Technical certifications preferred but not required. Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required. Own tools preferred but not required. Must have positive attitude and a willingness to grow and learn. Basic Computer knowledge preferred but not required. Must have reliable transportation and no attendance issues. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as well. PM service and repair work, suspension systems, tires and brakes. Truck and vehicle component lubrication and replacement. Electrical systems troubleshooting and diagnostics / repair. Cooling system maintenance / repairs. Perform basic vehicle diagnostics.

Physical Requirements:

Mechanic will be required to remember and understand certain instructions, guidelines or other information. The individual must be able to see and verbally communicate. Specific vision requirements include, close, distance, peripheral and depth. Mechanic must be able to move frequently, stand, walk and sit Mechanic must be able to regularly lift, and / or move 50 lbs. and occasionally lift / or move up to 100 lbs.

Guaranteed 35 hours if an employee made themselves available for work but due to inclement weather came up short we kick in extra hours to reach 35 hours for income stabilization. Furnished uniforms paid after completion of 60 day probationary period. Starting pay is listed depending upon experience, tools etc. Open to discussion.

Hours:

This is a full-time position with hours depending upon requirements of the ready-mix business. Advancement is available for the right individual. Some night work and Saturday hours are required.
