Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background and the ability to work with various types of machinery, including but not limited to excavators, loaders, dump and tractor trailer trucks, and various heavy construction equipment. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet. The successful candidate will work directly under the shop manager. Qualified candidates will earn more than starting range depending on qualifications. We pay top dollar!
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE!
Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar engines and other heavy equipment. Conduct routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles, including tractor-trailers and industrial equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics. Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspensions, transmissions etc. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed for customer service purposes. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and repair techniques. Experience with automotive repair practices including electrical systems troubleshooting. Ability to read schematics and perform complex diagnostics on various machinery. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs. Look up and order parts as needed. Utilize company vehicle to get parts as needed. CDL Class A preferred but not required.
