Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance and repair, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Diesel Mechanic will work on various vehicles and machinery, including trucks, farm equipment, and other diesel-powered vehicles. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including diagnostics and troubleshooting. Conduct brake repairs, air brake system checks, and tire services to ensure vehicle safety. Fabricate parts as needed for repairs or modifications. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately. Work with hydraulics systems to maintain and repair equipment functionality. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests. Keep records of maintenance performed and parts used for inventory management. Qualifications Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with a focus on diesel engines. Familiarity with dealership practices is a plus. Knowledge of farm machinery maintenance is desirable. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, brake repair, hydraulics, and fabrication skills. Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to diesel mechanics are advantageous. Skills Hands-on experience with Van Hool and Temsa buses. Use of computerized diagnostic software (especially for Temsa roles, e.g., Cummins Insite, Allison DOC). Knowledge of electrical systems and diagnostics. Experience with tire service and repair.
