Compensation:

Starting hourly rate of $20.96 per hour and $1500 stipend; an additional $727.01 stipend available for qualified mechanics.

Days/Hours:

260-day calendar; 8 hours per day with paid 1/2-hour lunch (report times vary to accommodate department needs)

Qualifications:

Excellent driving record with a minimum of a Class B CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements ASE certified bus mechanic preferred Must provide own mechanic tools and maintain their toolbox Minimum of one (1) year experience as a heavy-duty truck mechanic; references required Moderate to strong computer skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self-motivated Duties and Responsibilities See the attached job description for specific duties and responsibilities required of the position. The successful candidate must have the following on file before starting: High school diploma or equivalent. Favorable BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks. Rapback Enrollment through the Ohio Department of Education Negative drug screen result Valid CDL Must be able to successfully complete DOT physical for duration of employment. Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of the position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The successful candidate must complete all mandatory compliance courses assigned annually.
