Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Truck Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will utilize your mechanical expertise to ensure vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and trucks. Conduct preventive maintenance to extend vehicle lifespan and optimize performance. Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Fabricate or modify parts using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet repair specifications. Service heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery; ensure proper operation of power trains and hydraulic systems. Perform tire service, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacements, and air brake system repairs to ensure safety compliance. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules for each vehicle or piece of equipment. Qualifications Proven dealership or heavy equipment mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair. Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle systems, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension components, and electrical systems. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools necessary for repairs. Experience working with heavy trucks (tractor-trailers), industrial equipment (cranes, excavators), farm machinery, or similar machinery is highly preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs. Certifications related to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment operation are advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected.
