Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our nursery stock farming operation in Boring, Oregon. This position is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and welding/fabrication of a diverse fleet of agricultural, commercial, and automotive equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working independently and alongside other mechanic, and a commitment to maintaining safe and reliable equipment that supports daily farm operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline-powered equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on farm machinery and vehicles. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, fuel, brake, steering, and drivetrain systems. Direct and manage other mechanic(s) Maintain and repair agricultural equipment, including: Tractors Front loaders Skid steers Backhoes Farm implements and attachments Diagnose and repair commercial vehicles, including: Semi trucks Truck and equipment trailers Flatbeds and utility trailers Service and repair passenger vehicles used in farm operations. Perform welding, fabrication, and metal repair projects to maintain and improve equipment. Repair damaged frames, implements, and equipment components as needed. Maintain accurate service and repair records. Order, organize, and manage parts inventory. Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform field repairs when necessary. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies.

Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of diesel mechanic experience, agricultural equipment experience preferred. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Experience repairing and maintaining:

Tractors Front loaders Skid steers Backhoes Semi trucks Commercial trailers Passenger vehicles Welding and fabrication experience (MIG, stick, and/or TIG welding). Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple repair projects. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to safely operate farm equipment for testing and diagnostics. Preferred Qualifications CDL/Farm Endorsement or ability to obtain one. Experience with irrigation pumps and agricultural support equipment. ASE, diesel, or heavy equipment certifications. Experience working in nursery, agricultural, or construction environments. Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Frequently bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces.
