Bristol is looking for a Shop Diesel Technician. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team across multiple locations. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial equipment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake adjustments, wheel alignments, and shock & strut replacements to ensure vehicle safety and efficiency. Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using welding equipment and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on yard truck, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and automotive systems with precision diagnostics tools. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Assist in equipment assembly, installation, or upgrades to support operational needs across various job sites. Qualifications Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or fleet technician Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems Experience working on terminal tractors, yard trucks, or commercial vehicles is preferred Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems independently Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications are preferred but not required Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment Why Join Us?
