Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Truck/DOT/Diesel Mechanic to help keep our local fleet safe, compliant, and on the road. As a trusted regional provider of heavy-duty repair services, we work on a wide range of equipment—including RVs, school buses, commercial trailers, and heavy trucks—with a strong focus on FMCSA and DOT compliance. This position will require periodic travel. We're seeking a self-motivated technician with 2+ years of experience, a solid understanding of DOT requirements, and hands-on expertise with engines, hydraulics, brake systems, and related heavy-duty repairs. Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, school buses, and recreational vehicles in accordance withDOT/FMCSA
regulations. Diagnose and repair hydraulic components, steering systems, electrical systems, engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and braking systems in compliance withDOT/FMCSA
standards. Inspect and evaluate equipment to determine necessary repairs. Assist in the parts department as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Experience in heavy-duty truck, trailer, or bus maintenance and repair, with a focus onDOT/FMCSA
compliance. Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, steering, electrical, engine, transmission, drivetrain, and braking systems. Proven track record of performing routine and scheduled maintenance on a variety of heavy-duty vehicles. Solid understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards. Capability to inspect and evaluate equipment to determine necessary repairs. Experience assisting in parts department operations is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.Physical Requirements:
This position regularly requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and climbing on, under, or around vehicles and equipment. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds in various work environments, including outdoor job sites and shop settings. Work may be performed in both hot and cold weather conditions.
