Field Service Engineer - Medical Devices Military4Hire - 4.0 Danbury, CT Job Details Full-time 3 days ago Qualifications Customer communication Military Full Job Description Field Service Technician Medical Device Medical Device Field Service Technician is responsible for on-site installation, service, and troubleshooting of automated diagnostic and laboratory instrumentation at customer sites throughout an assigned territory. Does this sound like you? You've read schematics and electrical diagrams down to the component level to isolate and fix electro-mechanical or electronic system faults. You've maintained, calibrated, or repaired complex instrumentation independently, often with minimal direct supervision. You've worked with computer networks, software configuration, or IT systems alongside your hands-on technical work.

Main Responsibilities:

On-site installation, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and repair of automated diagnostic and laboratory systems (microbiology, molecular, and related instrumentation). Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical, electronic, and computer-controlled systems using appropriate tools, test equipment, and schematics. Configure and maintain instrument networking and software to keep systems communicating properly with lab information systems. Communicate work performed and follow-up plans clearly to customers; document service activity and complaints in the system of record. Maintain spare parts inventory, company vehicle, and issued equipment in good working order. Participate in on-call rotation and be available for scheduled and unscheduled travel, including occasional national assignments.

Qualifications:

Formal training through trade school, university, or

MILITARY

technical schools in electronics, electro-mechanical systems, or a related discipline. Understanding of electronics, electro-mechanical devices, PLCs, and basic pneumatics. Working knowledge of computer networking and software systems; able to communicate with customer IT staff. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; able to travel up to 50%, including overnight and occasional national travel. Strong customer service orientation with clear written and verbal communication skills.

Training & Education:

Military technical training or formal training in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Biomedical or other related field. Military training in the following fields desired: Avionics, Electronics, Fire Control, Nuclear, Computer/IT, Electrical/Electrician. Schools from the Navy, Marines, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard preferred. 10 years of technical troubleshooting or engineering/service experience preferred. Bachelors degree preferred
