Description:
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician/Engineer to support customers throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing CNC milling and turning machines at customer facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC field service, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and Fanuc CNC controls, along with the ability to work independently and provide exceptional customer service. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on CNC professional who enjoys solving complex equipment problems, working directly with customers, and having a high degree of independence in their day-to-day work. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Diagnose, repair, and maintain CNC milling and turning machines at customer locations. Troubleshoot and repair automatic tool changers, pallet systems, spindles, and turret mechanisms. Perform ball screw and axis support bearing replacements and alignments. Repair and align hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and part prints to perform precise repairs. Identify equipment issues and determine the most effective repair approach. Electrical & Controls Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems, including CNC controls and electro-mechanical assemblies. Read and interpret ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics. Use diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters, ohmmeters, and phase checkers. Troubleshoot and repair CNC controls, including Fanuc systems. Perform CNC programming and related adjustments as needed. Customer Service & Field Support Travel daily to customer facilities throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment issues, repairs, and recommended solutions. Work independently while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and service. Remain calm and professional when troubleshooting equipment under time-sensitive or high-pressure conditions. Complete service-related documentation and administrative tasks accurately. Represent the organization professionally at customer sites. Qualifications 5+ years of CNC field service experience required. Strong experience servicing and repairing CNC milling and turning machines. Knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls required. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on CNC repair experience. Electrical and electronic troubleshooting experience strongly preferred. CNC programming experience is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret:
Mechanical drawings Part prints Ladder diagrams Wiring schematics Experience using electrical diagnostic tools, including multimeters and phase checkers. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Dependable transportation and a clean driving record required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, twist, crawl, and perform other physical tasks required for equipment service. Ability to climb step ladders up to 8 feet. Ability to work in and around industrial machinery and customer manufacturing environments. Travel This position requires daily travel to customer facilities throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Candidates must be comfortable spending the majority of their workday in the field. Employees using their personal vehicle for business travel will receive mileage/gas reimbursement in accordance with company policy.
