Job Description

Overview The Service Technician is a key member of the UCPD team. The Service Technician's role includes pump, wastewater, and construction troubleshooting in real time. The expectations of a Service Technician include but are not limited to installing, assessing, and coordinating a variety of diverse technical, electrical, and mechanical projects throughout the UCPD service area.
Position Description:
Inspect electrical and mechanical equipment for faults and malfunctions. Complete accurate work orders, parts lists, and supply any relevant photos of job
  • site work.
Collaboratively respond to assigned customer service calls, diagnosing problems, and making appropriate repairs. Uses, maintains, and secures test devices and tools used to adjust, calibrate, and repair equipment related items.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant industrial, mechanical, or electrical experience
  • Ability to use tooling that includes but is not limited to wrenches, drivers, and power tools
  • Availability to work rotating emergency on
  • call hours, including weekends
  • Must have a current and non
  • suspended driver's license
  • Coordinates parts, supplies or tools needed to complete service requests
  • Relays any special problems to Operations Coordinator
  • Must be able to maintain company assigned vehicle in working and organized order to perform job
  • site tasks
  • Loads, delivers, installs, and specs equipment
  • Trains customers on the use and basic maintenance of equipment sold
  • Completes all required paperwork (time sheets, service orders, forms, inventory, expense reports, purchase card, and equipment related items) within a timely manner
  • Returns defective modules, assemblies or parts to the local office and labels items
  • Manages vehicle inventory and restocks as necessary
  • May be required to update immunizations to work around solid waste
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Preferred:
  • 1+ years of relevant water, wastewater, or electrical panel work preferred
  • Electrical journeyman licensing preferred
  • Commercial Driver's License preferred
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to move arms above shoulders above head
  • Required to lift, push, pull, and or carry equipment and tools, which may be over forty (40) pounds
  • Working environment may involve climbing ladders and scaffoldings with equipment, upwards to (40) feet
