Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Service Technician with expertise in residential and large-scale burglar alarm systems, addressable fire alarm systems, and network-based CCTV and access control systems. This role requires advanced troubleshooting capabilities and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. In this position, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial security systems at client sites. You will serve as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring systems operate reliably while providing a high-quality service experience. Key Responsibilities Install, service, and maintain commercial security systems, including fire alarm, access control, and video surveillance Troubleshoot and resolve system issues involving alarm panels, wiring, and field devices Perform system programming, diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades Read and interpret blueprints, electrical, building, and sprinkler plans Conduct system testing to ensure proper functionality and code compliance Provide on-site customer support and training on system operation Collaborate with service coordinators and internal teams to resolve service requests efficiently Document all service activities, repairs, inspections, and work orders accurately Identify and repair or replace defective equipment in accordance with company standards Test system components, including backup batteries and keypads, to ensure proper operation Coordinate inspections and installations with local authorities as needed Follow up on open service tickets, jobs, and inspections Maintain assigned inventory and ensure proper stock levels for scheduled work Safely operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment Stay current with evolving technologies and industry standards Participate in an on-call rotation Deliver exceptional customer service to maintain client satisfaction Requirements Experience in field service, installation, or maintenance of commercial security systems preferred Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems (fire alarm, access control, CCTV/video) Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift equipment and work at heights and in confined spaces Preferred Experience Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the fire and security systems industry Multi-discipline technical expertise across security platforms Why Join Gillmore? Pay:
$27.00 - $32.00 per hour
