Job Summary:
The Restoration Technician is responsible for handling scheduled and emergency restoration projects related to water, fire, soot, mold, trauma, biohazard, and detailed cleaning services. Working under the direction of a Lead Technician or Project Manager, the Restoration Technician plays a crucial role in restoring homes and businesses to pre-loss conditions. This role requires travel to multiple job sites, ensuring efficient execution of restoration tasks.
Responsibilities:
Assist with emergency restoration services, including water extraction, fire damage cleanup, mold remediations, trauma scene and biohazard cleaning, and detailed cleaning of tile, upholstery, and carpet cleaning. Load and unload vehicles with necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for each job, ensuring all tools are in working condition. Ensure proper selection and operation of equipment, including but not limited to moisture meters, dehumidifies, and air scrubbers. Set up containment areas, clean contents, remove debris, perform pack-outs and board up windows/doors as needed. Perform demolition work, including safe removal of damaged materials. Conduct mold remediation, air quality testing, and asbestos abatement in accordance with safety regulations. Use restoration equipment such as electrostatic sprayers, fogging units, and dehumidifiers. Perform carpet and upholstery cleaning and other detailed cleaning services. Follow all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining equipment and tools to avoid tripping and safety hazards. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Obtain and track supporting documents, such as receipts for fuel and materials. Capture and upload required photos, room-specific notes, and site logs for proper project documentation. Complete all necessary documentation and reports accurately and on time.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in the restoration industry (1-3 years preferred). High School diploma or equivalent. Experience with restoration equipment, power tools, and worksite safety procedures. Forklift or scissor lift operation experience is a plus. Strong work ethic and reliability. Ability to adapt to challenges and changes in the work environment. Maintain professional appearance and communication when interacting with clients. Ability to work well in a team with varied personalities of crew members and clients. Basic knowledge of meter readings and proper selection of equipment for specific projects. Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Physical stamina to lift and move equipment over 50 pounds, perform demolition work, stand for long periods of time, and work in varying conditions (hot/cold environments, attics, crawlspaces). Willing and available to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and out-of-state travel as needed. Detail-oriented with proficiency in using technology for documentation and communication. Responsible and trustworthy, upholding the companys standards and ethics. Basic computer skills needed for uploading site photos, documentation, and communication. Bilingual skills are a plus.
