A Field Service Technician services and repairs equipment and machines in a variety of customer locations such as residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Workers in this field can specialize in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of industrial, hardware, construction or electronic equipment just to name a few. These roles may work in a variety of remote locations and can travel up to multiple locations in a day.
Staffworks Group is seeking Mechanical Field Technicians to provide hands-on technical support at a dedicated customer location in Fresno, TX. This is an on-site position with one customer, and regular travel is not required. The Mechanical Field Technician will perform general mechanical maintenance, repairs, service tasks, and equipment support while working directly with the customer's team. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable using hand tools, able to work independently, and provides excellent customer service. Payrate $20 per hour Responsibilities Perform on-site repairs, maintenance, and general service tasks on mechanical equipment. Use basic hand tools and power tools to troubleshoot and complete repairs. Conduct product demonstrations and provide basic equipment training when needed. Provide maintenance support and training to the customer's in-house maintenance staff. Read and understand technical diagrams, manuals, and instructions. Provide technical guidance and expertise when applicable. Complete work orders and documentation using an iPad or computer. Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Manage multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Electronics, or a related field is a plus. Working knowledge of mechanical hand tools and basic mechanical principles. Experience using hand tools and power drill/drivers. Ability to understand technical diagrams, manuals, and written instructions. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Comfortable using an iPad for work orders, email, team calls, and documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical individuals. Strong customer service and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts. Flexible availability for extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, walk, sit, and reach as needed. Ability to lift and carry up to 50-60 lbs. Ability to regularly lift and carry tools and parts weighing up to 20 lbs. May be required to push and pull carts or equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. Comfortable performing physically demanding work in a customer-site environment. Tools & PPE Company tools will be provided. Employees are responsible for providing appropriate footwear and gloves.
