Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Golf Course Head Mechanic, where you will lead the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical expertise in a vibrant outdoor environment, contributing directly to the quality of play and overall course excellence. As the key technical leader, you will oversee daily operations, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and implement preventative maintenance strategies that keep our course running smoothly year-round. Your hands-on skills and leadership will help maintain a pristine golfing experience for members and guests alike. Responsibilities Lead the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of all golf course machinery, including mowers, carts, irrigation systems, and power generation equipment Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues using schematics and diagnostic tools Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan Troubleshoot equipment problems efficiently using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and electrical diagnostics Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for repairs and maintenance tasks Supervise a team of technicians or assistants, providing training on safety procedures and technical skills Ensure compliance with safety standards during manual handling, heavy lifting, electrical work, and equipment repairs Qualifications Proven experience as a mechanic or service technician with dealership experience preferred Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine repair, small engine maintenance, and heavy equipment troubleshooting Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems repair Hands-on experience with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands is advantageous Skilled in welding, soldering, electrical work, and generator repair techniques Familiarity with power generation systems and equipment maintenance practices Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks regularly Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to maintaining top-tier golf course operations through expert mechanical care.
