At Vermeer Mountain West, you'll find: Challenging diagnostic and repair work Modern tools, equipment, and OEM diagnostic resources Manufacturer and technical training Leadership that values technician knowledge and input A collaborative, team-focused environment Opportunities to mentor and share technical expertise Long-term career opportunities with a growing equipment dealership Competitive compensation based on experience and technical ability What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Use OEM diagnostic software, schematics, service information, and technical resources to identify equipment failures Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs Complete work efficiently while maintaining high standards for safety, accuracy, and quality Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, service manuals, and technical documentation Accurately document repairs, labor, parts, findings, and recommendations Communicate professionally with customers, service advisors, and teammates Serve as a technical resource for other technicians when appropriate Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Travel to customer locations or job sites as needed Who Will Thrive Here Our strongest technicians: Take pride in fixing equipment correctly the first time Enjoy solving challenging diagnostic problems Work independently and exercise sound technical judgment Demonstrate strong hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and mechanical troubleshooting skills Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers Value accountability, integrity, craftsmanship, and customer service Stay current with evolving equipment and diagnostic technology Understand the importance of customer uptime Lead by example and willingly share their knowledge Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, diesel-powered equipment, commercial vehicles, or similar machinery Strong hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and mechanical diagnostic skills Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and repair complex equipment failures Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, service manuals, and diagnostic information Experience using diagnostic tools, manufacturer software, and technical resources Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to commute to Salt Lake City, UT 84104 Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of hands-on shop and field repair work Technicians with 8+ years of relevant experience, OEM dealership experience, or advanced diagnostic expertise are especially encouraged to apply. Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: Vermeer or other OEM dealership service Advanced hydraulic, electrical, or electronic diagnostics CAN bus and machine-control systems Diesel engine and emissions-system diagnostics Cummins, CAT, John Deere, Vermeer, Deutz, Perkins, or similar OEM training Manufacturer certifications or advanced technical training Mentoring or providing technical guidance to other technicians Compensation & Benefits Placement in the range depends on experience, technical ability, diagnostic expertise, and certifications.
