We are seeking a dependable, hands-on mechanic who can diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and company vehicles used in paving and construction operations. Job Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy construction equipment and fleet vehicles. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine problems. Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime. Maintain and repair Peterbilt trucks and other heavy-duty fleet vehicles. Service and repair Volvo construction equipment. Maintain and repair LeeBoy asphalt paving equipment. Maintain and repair John Deere heavy equipment. Perform oil changes, brake repairs, belt and hose replacement, filter changes, and other routine maintenance. Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, and hoses. Troubleshoot electrical systems and electronic controls. Inspect equipment and identify potential problems before they result in costly breakdowns. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, parts, and equipment condition. Respond to field breakdowns when necessary. Follow company safety procedures and applicable
OSHA/DOT
requirements. Assist with keeping the company's equipment fleet safe, reliable, and job-ready. Qualifications Previous experience as a heavy equipment, diesel, or fleet mechanic. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment. Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs. Own tools appropriate for heavy equipment repair. Valid driver's license. CDL is a plus. Welding/fabrication experience is a plus. Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a construction environment. Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work around heavy equipment and machinery.
