Position:
Farm & Heavy Equipment Mechanic ( This is a full-time year-round permanent position).
Pay:
$18 - $25 Per Hour Depending on Experience / Florida current minimum wage is $14 Effective 9/30/26 Florida Minimum wage increases to $15 per hour (Employer Guarantees Minimum Wage .
GENERAL DUTIES
: Assist maintenance team in servicing and repairing a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles. This includes diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and performing preventive maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
: Repair and maintain all farm equipment. Spot paint repaired equipment. Repair and maintain carburetor and fuel injection systems. Repair and maintain air conditioning systems. Repair and maintain drive train and hydraulic systems. Repair and maintain stationary irrigation units. Perform electrical repairs and wiring. Understand and follow the manufacturers specifications for equipment operation Maintain shop work orders, service records, and necessary paperwork Competency with hand tools, power tools, welding torches, and shop equipment. Operate all vehicles and farm equipment for testing purposes Keep work area, supplies and equipment clean and neat. Perform all safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned .
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
: Experience in repairing harvesting equipment. Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to comprehend and convey mechanical information. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management. Must be able to read manuals, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
WORK HOURS
During busy season hours are and days are, Monday thru Friday, and some Saturdays as needed 6am-6pm and during off season hours are: 7am-4 or 5pm.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work in hot, wet, cold climatic conditions.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must have 12-months work experience
