Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of construction, industrial, and agricultural machinery. In this energetic role, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and service heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting large-scale projects and client satisfaction. We are looking for motivated professionals who thrive in hands-on environments and are passionate about machinery maintenance and repair. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, forklifts, and other construction machinery. Conduct electrical diagnostics, hydraulic system repairs, engine overhauls, transmission servicing, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and alignment procedures. Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals to accurately troubleshoot issues across various systems such as electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, and diesel engines. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, cutting tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure equipment longevity. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Assist with equipment assembly, disassembly, testing, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Support heavy lifting operations using appropriate tools and safety procedures while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or industrial equipment background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, tractors, trailers, and farm machinery. Proficiency in electrical systems diagnostics including automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics reading, and precision measurement tools. Ability to perform diesel engine diagnostics and repair along with air brake systems servicing. Knowledge of hydraulics, suspension systems, tire service, HVAC systems in heavy equipment, and alignment procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently. Strong customer service orientation with clear communication skills for working with clients or team members.
