OverviewA masonry shop mechanic maintains and repairs heavy masonry equipment, trucks, and specialized tools like brick saws, mortar mixers, and forklifts. Pay typically ranges from $32 to $40 per hour depending on experience, requiring a valid driver's license, mechanical expertise, and own hand tools. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]Job Duties Repair and service diesel and gas engines on company trucks, forklifts, and heavy transport vehicles. Maintain, troubleshoot, and fix job-site machinery including mortar mixers, masonry brick saws, and generators. Inspect and service hydraulic, pneumatic, and low-voltage electrical systems on equipment. Maintain organized repair logs, parts inventories, and service schedules for all shop assets. Ensure all repaired tools and heavy equipment comply with safety standards before deployment. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] Requirements & Skills Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on mechanical experience with heavy fleet or construction equipment. Ability to read and interpret mechanical repair manuals, parts books, and schematics. Possess a personal set of standard hand tools. Valid driver's license (CDL is often a plus or requirement if test-driving heavy trucks
Pay:
$27.01 - $32.52 per hour
