Missouri Metal Recycling is a Scrap Recycling Center in Webb City Missouri. We are looking for a detail
- oriented Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor to join our fast paced maintenance department.
A heavy equipment mechanic supervisor leads maintenance teams, manages shop workflow, and performs complex diagnostics and repairs on heavy machinery like bulldozers, excavators, and cranes. The heavy equipment mechanic supervisor oversees day-to-day shop operations and staff. This role balances administrative duties like scheduling and parts ordering with hands-on technical guidance. The goal is to maximize equipment uptime, control repair costs, and maintain safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and train a team of mechanics and technicians. Assign daily work orders and set repair priorities.
Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues. Step in to assist with or perform difficult, hands-on repairs.
Operations & Scheduling:
Plan preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate major overhauls. Estimate repair costs, track equipment status, and manage parts inventory.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce OSHA guidelines and internal safety policies to maintain a secure working environment.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
5-10 years of heavy equipment repair experience, with prior leadership or foreman experience.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, and electrical schematics. Familiarity with specific brand diagnostics (such as CAT or specialized industrial/military fleets).
Certifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Vocational/technical training, ASE certifications, or
OSHA 10/30
cards are often preferred. Valid driver's license (or CDL) depending on operational needs.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all services and work spaces in shop and throughout the yard
- Monitor the progress of all current and pending direct service tasks
- Manage and update Invoices, Purchase Orders and Work Orders.
- Process new Work Orders, and track Inventory
- Maintain accurate records of service orders and equipment hours.
- Monitor inventory levels and order necessary parts and supplies
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
