Laborer / Equipment Operator /

General Mechanic Pay:

$20-$21/hour, depending on experience

Position:

Full-time, seasonal We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Laborer / Equipment Operator / General Mechanic . This is a hands-on position that combines physical labor, equipment operation, and general mechanical work in a busy wholesale nursery environment. Daily responsibilities include loading and unloading tractor trailers, moving and handling trees and shrubs, operating forklifts and Bobcats, assisting with general maintenance and mechanical work, and helping wherever needed throughout the nursery. Forklift and/or Bobcat experience is required. Mechanical experience and the ability to perform general repairs and maintenance on equipment, vehicles, and machinery is strongly preferred. Applicants should enjoy physical work, working outdoors, and being around trees, shrubs, trucks, and equipment.

This position requires:

Regularly lifting and handling trees and shrubs weighing approximately 50-75 lbs. Being on your feet for extended periods Regularly getting in and out of equipment Safely getting on and off semi-trailers approximately 4 feet high Working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and dressing appropriately for the weather Being willing to perform a variety of tasks as needed throughout the day About the Position & Our Business We are a seasonal agricultural business specializing in trees and shrubs. While we are a small company, we operate as a large wholesale nursery, with the majority of our sales serving contractors and landscapers. We are not a landscaping company. We receive and unload multiple tractor trailers of plant material, which is then organized for customer pickup or delivery. Because of the nature of our operation, this is a physically demanding job and a good fit for someone who likes staying active, working outdoors, operating equipment, and doing hands-on work. The position is generally full-time from mid-March through mid-December , followed by a seasonal layoff.
