Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Mechanic to oversee and coordinate maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and vehicle systems. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of technicians, ensure adherence to safety standards, and maintain optimal operational performance across all equipment. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance on repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures. Perform complex repairs and troubleshooting on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct preventive maintenance on vehicles and machinery including transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems. Utilize power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools to fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed for optimal performance. Diagnose issues using automotive diagnostics tools and interpret schematics to identify root causes of mechanical or electrical failures. Oversee equipment repair schedules to minimize downtime while ensuring compliance with safety regulations like OSHA standards. Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance logs, service reports, and inventory of parts and tools. Skills Extensive dealership experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial machinery. Proficiency in fabrication techniques using welding equipment; ability to modify or create parts for specialized needs. Strong knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) machinery systems along with other major brands in heavy truck repair. Skilled in reading schematics for electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, HVAC units, transmissions, suspension systems, and vehicle systems. Hands-on experience with automotive electrical system repair, tire service, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement. Mechanical expertise in diesel engine repair for trucks and farm machinery; familiar with HVAC systems for vehicle comfort control. Ability to operate power tools safely while performing heavy lifting tasks; excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills.
