Duties Perform detailed diagnostics on automotive electrical systems, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, brakes, and other mechanical systems using schematics and specialized tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles including trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding equipment and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery safely and efficiently during repair or installation processes. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues by interpreting schematics and technical manuals; perform repairs with precision to meet safety standards. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety protocols including air brake systems and vehicle alignment procedures. Assist in equipment maintenance programs to prevent breakdowns; perform routine inspections on heavy equipment, farm machinery, and automotive systems. Qualifications Proven experience working as an automotive mechanic or heavy equipment technician with dealership or industrial settings preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge across a broad spectrum of vehicles and machinery including diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and vehicle electrical systems. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software; ability to read schematics accurately. Experience with heavy truck repair, vehicle maintenance for truck drivers, tire service, and service technician roles highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; familiarity with forklift operation is a plus. Knowledge of industrial equipment repair such as cranes, excavators, farm machinery, HVAC systems, hydraulics, and suspension components. Certification or experience in diesel mechanics or heavy truck repair is advantageous; relevant certifications in electrical or air brake systems are a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail; effective communication skills for collaborating with team members.
