The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair of forklifts, scissor lifts and warehouse type equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues and perform repairs on forklifts. As a Forklift Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our rental fleet and shop service on customer equipment. You may also be a road mechanic driving a company van and maintaining tools. Write up job tickets, order parts and fix minor repairs at customer job site. Responsibilities Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts, including scissor lifts and pallet jacks. Diagnose mechanical issues using OEM specifications and service manuals. Assemble and disassemble equipment components as needed for repairs or upgrades and order parts from website on a computer in office. Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs to ensure proper functionality of equipment. Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used for each job. Collaborate with other technicians to ensure timely completion of repair work.
Qualifications Must have:
Proven experience in forklift repair and maintenance. Seeking a person with a strong understanding of wiring and electrical components of machines as well as a strong understanding of vehicle systems, including propane, electrical and hydraulic systems. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate technical information clearly. Familiarity with OEM parts and specifications is preferred. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with equipment repair. Valid driver's license is required.
