Position Opening

Transportation Mechanic

Education/Certification

Valid Texas Commercial Drivers License (Must have CDL or be able to obtain CDL)

At Least a High School Diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills

Possess mechanical aptitude to effectively inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in vehicles and other power equipment

Possess ability to perform minor body repairs

Experience

Three years mechanic experience preferred

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

Continual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching

Ability to operate power and hand tools

Work outside and inside

Exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors

Exposed to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards

Work around moving objects and vehicles

Mental Demands:

Ability to read, communicate verbally, understand verbal and written directions, and work with minimal supervision
