It is the responsibility of the Lead Installer to install advanced HVAC systems and any other related HVAC components correctly and in a timely manner with a helper. A wide degree of creative design is expected along with the ability to lead and run a multiple crew install. Responsibilities Lead and supervise HVAC installation crews on residential and light commercial construction and retrofit projects. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, and specifications. Lay out HVAC systems and direct crew members through each phase of installation. Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company quality standards. Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, package units, ductwork, ventilation systems, refrigerant piping, gas piping, and controls. Wire line-voltage and low-voltage HVAC equipment. Perform copper brazing, refrigerant piping installation, equipment startup, and system testing. Coordinate daily activities with builders, supervisors, inspectors, and other trades on the jobsite. Identify material needs before and during installation and communicate shortages. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe jobsite. Train, mentor, and develop apprentice and junior installers. Inspect completed work to ensure quality and efficiency. Troubleshoot field issues and provide practical solutions. Complete required job documentation and communicate project progress to management. Lead by example through professionalism, workmanship, and safety.
