Responsibilities Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals. Install new HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and building codes. Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot complex issues involving electrical diagnostics, refrigeration leaks, ammonia refrigeration systems, and plumbing connections. Use hand tools, ohmmeters, and other field service equipment to accurately identify faults and execute repairs efficiently. Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair processes and maintenance recommendations clearly. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and logs for all work performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Experience Proven construction experience with mechanical systems installation or property maintenance is highly desirable. Demonstrated service technician experience working on HVAC/R systems in commercial or residential environments. Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems (BAS), electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance programs, boiler operation, appliance repair, and electrical system diagnostics. Mechanical knowledge related to refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing connections, and HVAC system components. Familiarity with the use of hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools. Valid EPA certification for refrigerants; additional certifications in HVAC/R or boiler operation are a plus. Ability to work independently in the field as well as part of a team; excellent problem-solving skills; strong customer service orientation.
