Position Overview We are seeking a full-time HVAC Service Technician to support commercial facilities throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area. This field-based position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a motivated HVAC professional with strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a customer-focused approach. Successful technicians will possess a strong commitment to safety, the ability to work independently, and a dedication to providing high-quality service to commercial clients. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC system issues. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled service. Complete corrective repairs on a variety of HVAC equipment. Respond to service calls in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner. Ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and project updates with customers and internal teams. Accurately document service activities, equipment conditions, and recommended repairs. Collaborate with team members to meet service schedules and customer expectations. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Maintain company tools, testing instruments, and equipment in proper working order. Promote a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Required Qualifications & Technical Skills Strong HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic experience preferred. Availability to work weekends and overtime during peak seasons, as needed. Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
Ability to read and interpret:
Technical manuals Wiring diagrams and schematics Work orders and service documentation Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Equipment Experience Experience with any of the following equipment is highly desirable: VRV/VRF Systems Package and Split Systems Chillers Water-Cooled Units Liebert/Critical Cooling Systems Certifications & Experience EPA Certification (or equivalent refrigerant handling certification) preferred. Prior HVAC service, maintenance, or mechanical experience preferred. Trade school education or related technical training is a plus. Customer Service & Communication Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Professional communication with clients, coworkers, and management. Ability to clearly explain technical issues, repair options, and recommendations. Physical & Travel Requirements Ability to perform field work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely use hand and power tools. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Familiarity with travel throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area. Ability to work on ladders, rooftops, and in mechanical spaces as required.
