Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and troubleshooting of HVAC systems using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical knowledge to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain HVAC equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and building automation systems to ensure optimal performance. Install new HVAC systems and equipment in residential settings following industry standards and safety protocols. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC systems to prevent future breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Collaborate with clients to explain repair procedures, provide maintenance recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to perform repairs efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Keep detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation of all work performed for transparency and quality assurance. Skills Proven experience as a service technician with strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems including electrical systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems repair. Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams. Skilled in HVAC system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across various equipment types. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools and diagnostic instruments like ohmmeters. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Knowledge of electrical diagnostics including electrical system repairs and troubleshooting complex electrical issues. Familiarity with HVAC design principles, building codes, EPA certification requirements for refrigerants (EPA), and safety standards for field service work.
