Job Description

We are hiring an HVAC Technician that wants to learn! A hard worker with 2+ years of HVAC experience (preferably commercial but will consider residential experience). With hundreds of installations in various climates around the world, KyotoCooling is the most experienced supplier of indirect cooling solutions in the data center industry. The company has offices in Dallas, Texas and Akron, Ohio. Summary The primary role of the HVAC Field Service Technician is to troubleshoot, repair and service HVAC related equipment in the Data Centers. This position will be on a rooftop servicing equipment. Responsibilities Maintain HVAC systems for commercial use, documenting work in our systems Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues Repair or replace defective components in HVAC systems Test HVAC systems to ensure proper functioning Collaborate with other technicians and contractors on larger projects Follow safety protocols and regulations when working on HVAC systems Requirements 2 years minimum of practical HVAC experience (commercial experience preferred) Specific Experience with Scroll Compressors and R410A Refrigerant or similar Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of commercial or industrial HVAC systems Data center experience preferred Working knowledge of digital controls (Tridium, Siemens, Schneider, Vertiv) and VFD components Working knowledge of modern communication networks (Switch, Router, IP systems) Working knowledge of BACNET, Modbus protocols Working knowledge of preventative maintenance and refrigeration maintenance legal requirements Ability to troubleshoot, repair mechanical systems and read electrical schematics Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues accurately using meters and appropriate electrical devices Ability to listen and respond effectively to customers Ability to work effectively as a team player with staff personnel with strong communication skills Maintain confidentiality of all company information, business units and personnel Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record Working knowledge of VFD drives and EEVs Comfortable working on ladders and with power tools Ability to pass a security clearance or background check Education Refrigeration Training from recognized Post Secondary Institutions (Higher Education) Associate's degree or equivalent certification in
HVAC EPA
Refrigerant certification OSHA 10 certification required, OSHA 30 a plus
