Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal climate control, energy efficiency, and system reliability for our clients. Responsibilities Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues. Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC units. Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with safety standards. Troubleshoot equipment problems related to refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, and mechanical components. Use hand tools and specialized equipment to perform repairs or installations with precision and safety. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for client records and warranty purposes. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system issues, repairs needed, and maintenance recommendations. Adhere to EPA regulations regarding refrigerant handling and ensure environmentally responsible practices during system servicing. Assist in the installation of new HVAC systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. Experience Proven construction experience with hands-on involvement in HVAC system installation or repair projects. Service technician experience working on commercial or industrial HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems. Strong mechanical knowledge including familiarity with building automation systems and electrical systems integration. Experience troubleshooting complex HVAC equipment using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Knowledge of refrigeration principles including ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus. Ability to operate hand tools effectively and safely in various field environments. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience as a driver preferred for field service assignments. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC design or plumbing are advantageous.
