Job Description

About DCA Dehumidifier Corporation of America (DCA) designs and builds commercial/industrial dehumidification systems used in natatoriums, manufacturing, and other demanding environments. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Cedarburg, WI, we're investing in product quality, training, and support—while keeping the tight-knit, family feel our long-tenured team loves. The Opportunity If you've spent years diagnosing refrigeration circuits, reading schematics, and coaching younger techs—and you're ready to trade the ladder for a headset—this role is for you. You'll be the calm, trusted voice who helps contractors, reps, and service teams get DCA equipment running right. Most days are phone/Teams and documentation; a smaller portion is hands-on training and occasional site visits for start-ups or complex issues. Who this role is great for A seasoned HVAC/R service technician ready to reduce physical demands and travel. A former service manager or small business owner who enjoys teaching and problem solving. A controls-savvy tech who loves turning hard-won field know-how into clear instructions. What You'll Do Phone/Video Support (80-90%) : Guide contractors through safe, accurate troubleshooting—airflow/static, superheat/subcooling, sensors and safeties, 120V/24V control circuits, 3-phase/VFD basics. Training (Classroom + Field, 10-20%) : Lead small-group trainings (5-10 people) for start-up/commissioning, best practices, and common diagnostic workflows.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement :
Capture case notes, write clear service bulletins, help keep manuals/troubleshooting trees current, and close the loop with Engineering/Production on recurring issues.
Parts & RMAs :
Recommend parts, create concise quotes/RMAs (warranty & non-warranty), and document root causes. What You Bring Must-have 5+ years HVAC/R field service (commercial/industrial preferred). Confident with the refrigeration cycle and psychrometrics (sensible vs. latent). Comfortable reading wiring diagrams/P&IDs and using a meter to diagnose control circuits.
Strong phone presence:
patient, friendly, and able to coach a tech to resolution. Organized, documentation-minded, and team-oriented; basic computer skills (email, Teams, Excel/Word). Nice-to-have Start-up/commissioning or factory tech support experience. Experience with dehumidification applications or pool/natatorium environments. Familiarity with 3-phase power, VFDs, safeties, sensors, and setpoint strategies. Why You'll Love It Here Stay in the trade without the daily physical strain—no attics, roofs, or 90° rooftops. Make a visible impact by mentoring the field and improving reliability. Tight-knit team, direct access to leadership, and a growing product line.
