Gearbox Mechanic Posted on March 20, 2026 March 20, 2026 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking a skilled Gearbox Mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical gearbox systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Position Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair Inspect, maintain, and repair gearboxes and related mechanical systems. Diagnose mechanical issues and implement corrective actions. Perform routine preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics Identify and resolve mechanical failures using appropriate tools and techniques. Record maintenance and repair activities accurately. Equipment Testing & Calibration Test repaired gearboxes to ensure proper function and performance standards. Calibrate equipment as required to maintain operational efficiency. Prerequisites Proven experience as a Gearbox Mechanic or in a similar mechanical maintenance role. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, gears, and industrial machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Certifications (Preferred, but not Required) Mechanical or industrial maintenance certifications are a plus. What the Role Offers Competitive salary range of $70,000-$95,000.
