Brazer Job Description The brazer assembles and joins metal components using controlled heating processes, filler materials, and precision techniques to create strong, leak‑proof, and durable joints. This role requires careful attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints, and a consistent commitment to producing high‑quality work in a production environment. Responsibilities Prepare metal components for brazing by cleaning, aligning, and securing parts according to specifications. Perform brazing operations using torches, induction heaters, and furnaces to heat metal parts to the correct brazing temperature. Join copper piping and other metal components using appropriate brazing techniques to create strong, leak‑proof joints. Conduct leak checks on refrigerant circuits, including pressure testing and system evacuation, to ensure system integrity. Inspect brazed joints for quality, accuracy, and adherence to product specifications and quality standards. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work orders, and detailed instructions to complete assemblies correctly. Carry out general mechanical assembly work as part of the production process. Follow established safety procedures related to heat, metalwork, and equipment handling at all times. Work independently or as part of a production team to meet daily and weekly output targets. Lift, move, and position materials and components weighing up to 50 to 75 pounds as required for assembly and brazing tasks. Essential Skills At least 3+ years of brazing experience. Prior knowledge and hands-on experience joining copper piping using brazing techniques. Experience performing leak checks on refrigerant circuits, including pressure testing and system evacuation. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, work orders, and detailed instructions. Strong manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination for precise brazing and assembly work. Strong attention to detail to ensure consistent, high‑quality joints and assemblies. Understanding of safety procedures related to heat, open flame, metalwork, and industrial equipment. Ability to frequently lift 50 to 75 pounds safely. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in brazing, welding, or metal fabrication is preferred. Background in mechanical or mechanical assembly work. Familiarity with assembly, brazing, soldering, and general mechanical processes. Comfort using tools such as torches, induction heaters, and furnaces in a production setting. Ability to follow detailed work instructions and meet product specifications consistently. Why Work Here? The position involves regular lifting of 50 to 75 pounds and requires adherence to safety procedures for heat and metalwork. Work uniforms are provided, supporting a consistent and practical dress code suitable for an industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
