Overview The Assistant Town Supervisor participates in the effective management of municipal operations. The primary focus is maintenance of streets, public right-of-way, sidewalks, and storm water system components. Winter snow removal and waste treatment system repairs and also included. Responsibilities Mowing and maintenance of compost area, streets and road right of way, street surface maintenance, safety paint and signage and other seasonal duties as assigned Responsible for assigned equipment and functional area maintenance, may include engines, motors, mowers, trimmers Storm Drain maintenance on daily and seasonal schedule Maintenance of Waste Treatment Plant aeration blowers, UV banks, bar screen and cleaning. Prepare weekly waste water composite samples when needed. Inspection of lift stations and sewer lines Accept "On call" rotation for after hour emergencies including snow removal Mosquito control as directed under the applicator license of Town Supervisor Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures (ie, payroll, safety and security, employee relations) Receive and respond to customer related needs and issues, provide incident reports, communicate with involved parties Requirements Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate in English with internal and external customers Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, using prescribed routines and safety practices High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license Experience with snow plow, tractor or back hoe equipment operation or obtain a minimum skill within 6 months as determined by the Supervisor. Knowledge and experience with hand tools, engines, motors, plumbing or electrical Computer keyboard skills and familiarity with email and internet information search

Pay:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
