Full-Time Position Overview The Maintenance Staff plays a vital role in maintaining one of Central Kentucky's premier community parks. Team members are responsible for helping ensure Anderson-Dean Park remains clean, safe, attractive, and ready to welcome more than 400,000 visitors each year. Working alongside the Maintenance Director and Operations Team, Maintenance Staff will assist with grounds maintenance, facility upkeep, repairs, athletic field preparation, and special events. Key Responsibilities- Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, weed control, landscaping, and athletic field maintenance.
- Maintain ballfields, soccer fields, playgrounds, walking trails, shelters, restrooms, and other park facilities.
- Assist with general maintenance and repairs of buildings, fences, playground equipment, and other park infrastructure.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and other maintenance equipment.
- Assist in diagnosing equipment issues and coordinating repairs when necessary.
- Operate maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare athletic fields and facilities for tournaments, rentals, community events, and special programs.
- Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, irrigation, concrete, welding, and other maintenance projects as assigned.
- Keep the park clean by collecting litter, emptying trash receptacles, and maintaining restrooms and common areas.
- Respond to maintenance requests, emergency repairs, storm cleanup, and seasonal maintenance needs.
- Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Director and Operations Team to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming park. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of small engine repair and preventative maintenance of maintenance equipment is highly valued.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, irrigation, welding, concrete, or other skilled trades is highly valued.
- Ability to safely operate tractors, zero-turn mowers, utility vehicles, and other maintenance equipment, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to work as part of a team.
