Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and functionality of outdoor grounds and landscaping areas. This role involves performing routine groundskeeping, landscape maintenance, and equipment operation to ensure a safe, attractive, and well-maintained environment. The ideal candidate will have outdoor work experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with horticulture practices. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic setting, utilizing various tools and equipment to support grounds maintenance and landscaping projects. Responsibilities Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal. Operate groundskeeping and landscaping equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, irrigation systems, and tree trimming tools. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Conduct plant identification to assess health status and identify pests or diseases requiring intervention. Apply pesticides responsibly following safety protocols to control pests and protect plant health. Maintain grounds by performing tasks such as leaf removal, weed control, fertilization, and soil management. Perform routine repairs on outdoor structures, equipment, or irrigation systems as needed. Follow safety protocols diligently during all maintenance activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Assist with groundskeeping projects that enhance the landscape's overall appearance and safety standards. Document maintenance activities and report any significant issues requiring further attention. Experience Proven outdoor work experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related fields preferred. Mechanical knowledge related to operating power tools, irrigation systems, and grounds maintenance equipment is highly desirable. Familiarity with horticulture principles including plant identification, lawn care techniques, tree trimming, and gardening practices. Experience managing pesticide application responsibly in compliance with safety regulations. Ability to operate landscaping machinery safely and effectively while adhering to safety protocols. Prior experience working outdoors in various weather conditions is advantageous.
