Raleigh, NC 27605 Quality Hospitality is offering a rare and exciting opportunity to join the opening team of a new luxury boutique hotel, The Oberlin , opening in Raleigh, NC this fall as a new Hilton Curio property. We're seeking proactive, relationship-driven hospitality professionals dedicated to providing excellent service in an upscale environment. Job Summary A Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Chief Maintenance Engineer in the overall maintenance of the hotel's building and grounds and the operation of its equipment and mechanical/electrical systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for the overall safety and security of the hotel and its associates. Responsibilities Resolving maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders to prioritize and schedule work assignments (e.g. painting, drywall, door adjustments, minor plumbing and electrical work, HVAC maintenance, etc.) Assisting in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing malfunctioning property systems and equipment, including electrical/mechanical Assisting in inspecting property to identify potential and current needs and acting on those needs Performing preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis Assisting in servicing the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals, vacuuming, and cleaning filters Completing maintenance calendar Completing hotel mattress rotation program Maintaining and upkeep of the outside of the property (e.g. trash removal, maintenance of cigarette butt removal, cleaning of parking lot, leaf blowing, maintenance of flowerpots and boxes, etc.) Maintaining the building exterior if not serviced by a contractor (e.g. snow removal, lawn care, painting, lights, etc.) Maintenance of meeting room and assisting with set up/breakdown Maintaining a passing score on the Quality Hospitality maintenance and security audit Maintaining hotel brand service and product standards Listening and responding to guests' requests and/or complaints Coordinating and maintaining effective relations with other departments in the hotel to promote guest service Experience Prior maintenance experience is required - prior maintenance experience in a hospitality setting is preferred Proven working experience and knowledge of proper maintenance processes, means, methods, and standards Strong initiative and work ethic Punctual, reliable, and regular attendance Strong attention to detail Customer-service oriented and excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, twist, and reach frequently.
