About Us:

The Mystic Santa Fe is a vibrant, boutique motel, a stylish café, and a dynamic event space—all rooted in the rich culture of Northern New Mexico. We pride ourselves on offering our guests a welcoming and well-maintained environment, and we're looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Worker to help keep our property running smoothly.

Position Overview:

This part-time position is ideal for someone who is handy, dependable, and proactive. While you don't need to be a master craftsman, you should feel confident handling minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and general upkeep of our rooms, café, and outdoor spaces. You'll be an essential part of keeping The Mystic looking and functioning its best.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform minor repairs and upkeep across motel rooms, café, and public areas Replace room keys and troubleshoot basic lock issues Touch up scuff marks and paint blemishes on walls and surfaces Repair or replace door handles, with knowledge of necessary hardware and sourcing Replace and clean HVAC filters in guest rooms and café (training provided for water components) Address minor plumbing issues such as unclogging toilets, clearing drains, and fixing small leaks Repair or stabilize fixtures like sinks, showers, chipped tiles, or loose hardware Perform occasional furniture repairs, including bed frames Install or swap out TVs and mounts as needed Use a pressure washer to clean outdoor walkways and lobby seating areas Remove trash from all exterior bins and maintain a clean, litter-free property Update the outdoor marquee sign 2-3 times per week (requires use of a ladder) Monitor the property for maintenance or safety concerns and report larger issues to management Keep tools and supplies organized and workspace tidy Respond to occasional maintenance requests from staff in a timely manner

Qualifications:

Basic experience in general maintenance, repairs, or handyman work preferred Comfortable using tools and performing physical tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs Ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions in English (both spoken and written) Spanish language skills are a plus Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving Must be punctual and have reliable transportation Able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Schedule:

This is a flexible, part-time position totaling around 20 hours per week. Weekday availability is preferred, though scheduling can be adjusted as needed.
