Job Description

RJ Krumdieck Construction is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Janitorial and Maintenance Worker to help maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment. This position is responsible for daily cleaning and sanitation, routine maintenance, grounds upkeep, supply management, and other facility needs. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, is reliable and organized, and is comfortable working independently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety. Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Janitorial Duties Vacuum carpets twice daily and more frequently as needed. Dust mop hard-surface floors daily. Clean and sanitize restroom, safe room, kitchen, and cafeteria floors according to established schedules. Clean and sanitize restroom fixtures, sinks, mirrors, and baby changing stations. Empty trash, recycling, pencil sharpeners, and paper shredders. Refill restroom and cleaning supplies as needed. Sweep entrances and sidewalks and clean floor mats. Clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces, including doorknobs and light switches. Routine Cleaning and Maintenance Dust furniture, ledges, windowsills, blinds, and other surfaces. Clean heater vents and classroom sinks and counters. Vacuum offices weekly. Remove cobwebs from entrances, corners, and ceilings. Spot clean windows and carpets as needed. Clean and sanitize kitchen and cafeteria waste containers. Launder cleaning rags and dishtowels as needed. Building and Grounds Maintenance Perform minor building, furnishing, and equipment repairs. Replace burned-out light bulbs and perform other basic maintenance tasks. Assist with lawn mowing, watering, and seasonal grounds maintenance. Treat moss on sidewalks and remove snow and ice as needed. Clean interior and exterior of buses. Assist with moving office furniture and other facility-related tasks. Monitor vehicles for safety and maintenance needs. Report major maintenance concerns or conditions that could result in building deterioration or unsanitary conditions to the supervisor. Supplies and Facility Support Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning and facility-maintenance products. Monitor inventory and notify the appropriate supervisor when supplies or other facility needs should be ordered. Clean conference rooms as needed, including loading used dishes and cups into the appropriate dishwasher. Perform additional cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed to maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment. Additional Responsibilities Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility. Follow established cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and sanitation practices. Respect and maintain the confidentiality of all clients and individuals served at the facility. Work cooperatively with staff, supervisors, and other personnel. Perform duties outside of regular working hours when approved by management. Schedule The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Specific hours may vary based on facility needs. Work outside of regular working hours may occasionally be required with prior approval. Qualifications Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment. Ability to perform physical janitorial and maintenance duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving supplies or furniture. Ability to perform basic maintenance and repair tasks.
