Job Description
The City of Aiken is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join our Public Services Department in the Buildings and Grounds Division. Installation and maintenance of seasonal flowerbeds General landscaping maintenance Performing manual labor and related duties Installs sod, trees and various other plants Applies pesticides and herbicides Operates chipper and a variety of commercial mowers and small engine hand tools Works in inclement weather Teamwork is an essential function of the job and at times it may be required that the candidate work outside the Grounds Division. A working knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees is preferred Experience with tractor/large equipment is desirable Must be able to read and write, as well as understand and follow verbal instructions Must have a valid state driver's license This position is subject to a criminal background check for any convictions directly related to its duties and responsibilities.
